Adding OEM Sirius radio to a 2007

Hey guys, my 07 didn't come with the Sirius option, but I'd like to add it now. Adding the factory Sirius receiver in the trunk seems pretty straightforward, but I'm a little confused as to which wiring harness to get. I currently have the AUX port in the center console that I use for my Ipod, so I'm wondering if adding the Sirius option will remove the ability to use the AUX port in the center console? Also, since the 07s have the AUX port, wouldn't the Sirius harness be different for 07s than previous years? Thanks for the help.

You have to be careful using the harness from another car. I did the same thing you're wanting to do as far as installing a factory sirius tuner/module in my car. I found a sirius tuner/module that had come out of a 2008 ford truck on ebay and ordered a harness for it. I installed it and for the life of me I couldn't get it to work. So I contacted these folks at www.dbautoradio.com/product.htm#Satellite who explained that they do all the warranty work on Ford installed sirius tuners. They had me send the tuner and the harness to them and they determined that that particular tuner was incompatible with the harness and set me up with what I needed. I was able to return the tuner I got off ebay to the seller for a refund.

Thanks for the info Joe. I was hoping to add Sirius to my 07 on the cheap. Did you order a harness for a Mustang or a truck?

Call around the junk yards and get one out of a crashed Stang.

I ordered the harness for a mustang. If memory serves db auto radio were the only ones making the harness. I had actually gone to my local Ford dealer for the harness and found it cost prohibitive. It was after a bit of research I found db auto radio was building the harness for Ford and I could buy it from them at a savings. The problem I was having wasn't with harness but with the tuner/module. I also found out each tuner/module is tied to the vehicle it originally came in so when you call sirius to activate it they can you all about the vehicle and its owner/purchaser. No matter what sirius did they could not activate it for me.

Thanks for the info guys. KC, what's the price of your Sirius kit? I couldn't find it in your hot sheets. Thanks.
