Any creative ideas on mounting heated seat switch?

I got a heated seat kit for my wife for Christmas to install on the driver seat of the GT. Its comes with a round switch about the size of a penny. I'll be doing the install on Monday and was trying to come up with a good spot to put the switch. Its a nice looking switch, oem looking. I though about the center console or on the side of the seat but just not sure. I'm not going to tell her until Christmas so unless she sees the switch she'll have no idea and if she does see it then no big deal. Whether or not she'll see the switch has no bearing on where i put it. I want it to look good so which ever location that is then so be it. Any ideas?

Can you switch it out for an OEM button and place it where the factory switch goes? Just curious for future reference.

BTW. The car in your avatar looks great, do you have a full res version I can check out?

umm, i am at work so i am very limited on picture selections. Here is one i have though. I am not sure where the factory switch is on cars that come equipped with heated seats. I could probably do a factory looking install if i had more time but for now with Christmas being very close i just need to get it in the car. Great idea though

I hear ya on the switch, sorry I don't have any productive input. That is one great looking ride though. I don't want to threadjack so I'll send you a PM with a few questions if you don't mind.

someone hooked up aftermarket heated seats to the OEM hvac cluster, but it seems like a PITA. my switches are the on the side of each seat, i think it looks best that way though i saw a pic floating around of someone who had their switches mounted on either side of the cupholder

That's an easy panel to replace too if you don't like it. In the photo you can see the factory heater switch on the buttons at the bottom of the HVAC controls. Only the passenger side is correct though. The driver switch is in the wrong spot. Also what's up with that steering wheel emblem?

Jim010 did the install with factory switches. You might send him a PM.

I wouldn't think that they would cost very much from Ford, I just picked one up in a junkyard for cheap to go with a project of mine, just look around.

*Edit - why not mount it under the seat for now? Don't have to worry about accidentally turning it on there.

That's where mine is on my truck, I always hit it when I'm getting in and out while it's running though. Don't guess you'd have that problem when the seats low though

What about in the glove box or center console? Out of the way but easy to get to.

glove box would be a pain from the drivers seat, especially if you were the only one in the car. I need to go over the console good and see if i find any prime locations

What about just under the e-brake handle and a bit forward. You can see it from the seat, you can easily activate it, but you wouldn't hit it by accident, and if you used the e-brake you still wouldn't hit it. The whole center section is easily removed and replaced, so you could have the install done in about 2 hours.

I don't think anywhere on the outside of the console is good. I hate the cheesy looking "ambient lighting" switch Ford stuck on the console, it looks horrible.

I vote for getting a factory switch.
