Sounds like a fairly hairy project to embark honestly. Especially since I am not a audio install pro. I would need complete pin outs for the stock nav for the 07, then the wiring pin out for the 09 escape, and also the wiring diagram for the escape as well as the mustang. The add in sync, Im looking at a project that could be very costly as well as drag into months.

I would gladly pay 200-300bux for a wiring harness that does it all and all I would have to do is get the correct parts and go from there.

Is it the case that all of the '09 Nav units do not have a built in amp, or just the Escape unit?

Any Unit with Sirius Travel Link will not have the 6 CD changer or an integrated amplifier. It uses a 40GB hard drive that has 10GB for ripping music to the head unit.

Bump, I have looked on e-bay. None of these navi systems to be found.

I really want sync and a hdd based navi unit in my stang. Its time to start poling some knowledge.

Anyone have the wiring schematics for the 07+ stangs (these had optional navi)

Also anyone have the wiring schematic for the 09 escape? I think if we pool some knowledge then we can get this thing working.

I don't see why not.

All of that is do able. It would actually be easier on the Mustang since the platform has been stable since 05. Module programming updates from say 07-08/09 would be safer. The Freestyle is a very different beast 05-07 there are programming and module changes, then in 08 everything changed on it. All of the stuff I need (want) is in the 08-09 group. Not easy to find all the wiring or module changes since so much of it is different.

The Mustang Sync kit is going to do most of the heavy lifting to get the functionality you need, controls and mic. The 09 Nav unit just needs an amp for getting outputs up to the speaker requirements. The 09 Escape has a 320W unit (4 speakers) and the 09 Expedition has a 340W unit (6 speakers, added tweeters).

Well, I hope as time goes on, I would love to retrofit that to my car. is sync an option on the 08/09 escape.

The 09 Escape has both the Sync unit and the Updated 09 Nav unit. I'm not sure if 08 has Sync.
