Xenon Headlight System for 05' Stangs
Since I am sure some of you hate, HATE halogen bulbs like me -- especially if you've driven ANYthing with an HID Xenon system -- here's news to help you out... I sent an email to Saleen about their OEM DOT approved HID system and have just preordered mine. They said shipments will start near the end of Dec. and that's when you'll be charged even though the greedy b's want your credit card info right away. PS -- Call the Toll Free # JUST TO HEAR THE SALEEN RECORDING!!! It's the FUNNIEST recording, as I never knew the company wanted to be all British and get the MOST British sounding lady they could find for it. Seriously, call just to hear it; you'll love the way she says "Saleen". >>>
Drew,
We anticipate availability late December. Like yourself, once you have
driven with HID lighting, it's difficult to accept standard. FYI, these 2005
Mustang specific headlights are a complete assembly, and are DOT compliant
and certified. Final pricing is pending, but will run about $1000.00 for the
pair. If you would like delivery from our first production run, please
confirm an order to our sales representative Robert at 800-888-8945.
Oh, here's a close-up picture I took of the 2005 Saleen Mustang's Xenon headlight...

Looks near identical to the halogen, but two differences: [1] This bulb is HID and [2] This bulb will cost you $1,000
(ok, $500 if you do the math)
Now, I know the GT fog cramps will look awful with HID headlights, but I think they look awful ANYways (disagreements abound, I know B) ). My idea is to change the grill to one of those horzontal "slab" style steel grills (getting rid of grill mounted fogs completely) and get a set of PIAA's new and amazingly neat LED fog lamps for the lower valence. Here they are from PIAA's site...

Well, there's some ideas for you all. Good luck with whatever you all do and remember, get the pics up on here

Funny you mention that! I was thinking "British au pair" babysitter too, lol... Sadly, I got bored at work and called the number yet again just to hear her all over again and remind myself why the British are [sometimes] oh so very funny...
