why buy stripes
I have posted a few questions about stripes, after going thru the posts, and the photos, (adrenline, your stang is awesome), most of them have stripes. They look nice, but why do we buy them? Isn't part of being a "gearhead", being different. How many flame jobs are there on 57 chevy's, 32 ford's, and 49 mercury's. Granted they are nice, but now they are overdone. Even though we love the 66 hertz, gt 350, gt 500's. We cannot bring them back. I'd rather take the money spent on the stripes, and put it where it counts, under the hood.

Beats me, but I really like them. Something about being different from every other car...and I think tradition. I love comparing to the old Shelbys.

Go for it...to each their own!
Me, I'm getting stripes!
By the way, that's one of the most clever photographs I have seen!
Thanks.
Glad you like my car. I have wanted stripes ever since I wanted this stang, but that was not just based on when I first saw the concept car. I have striped everything I own. Yes, I do want to be different and know that a lot of people are striping their cars, which is fine. I gotta admit, as soon as I see another one in town with the same stripes on it, mine will be coming off. I am working on a different design and until I like the finished product I am not going to change yet.

I think I was the first official TMS member to stripe the '05 and at the time I thought it was going to be different from everyone else.
I think the Black defineately looks better with stripes.

There was a TMS member who posted pics of his striped 05 and it had pinstripining around the edge? Not a thin outline stripe, but different colored secondary stripe (maybe even a thick/thin pair of outlines).
Anyone remember that? Link to the pics?
