Thanks guys!

Seeing them unmounted I wouldn't have thought I would have like those wheels. But seeing them on a stang changes my opinion.

FYI: found more info about this car. Rear wheels are 255/55-18s (29.04" tall)and fronts are 255/45-18s (27.03" tall)

Front has been lowered 3/4" and rear 1 3/4"

I like how those 255/55s give it an old school look

Just curious..did changing the overall diameter put that car in limp mode? Having to change the speedo isn't that big a deal. But your right about old school, that profile with the rake looks great on that pony.

How would the computer know what diameter tire was on the car???

When the dearlership installed my 3;73's they had to recalibrate the computor to change out the speedo.Even changing to a taller tire changes your gear ratio, slightly but just enough.Even my tire pressure senors sense low air or too much and set off the TPS alarm.

I understand re-cal the speedo for the different ratio including the tire size, but again how would the computer know that the tire ht has changed causing a limp mode???

That is the TPS job to tell when the Pressure is off...but I wouldn't think the Tire Pressure Sensor is monitoring Tire Size.

Does low Tire Pressures send the car into limp mode?

Yeah but the TPS as I was told at the dealer senses a smaller or larger tire due to air pressure which activates an alarm, not limp mode, the sensor is mounted on the inside of the rim and does rotate at speed,I' may have been told wrong but thats what I heard. The computor does know everything your car is doing via sensors. When my buddy took his 06"GT in for 4:10 gears the car wouldn't run pass 45mph untill he had to recalibrate the computor.

If two different size tires have the same Air pressure in them I can't imagine it could differentiate between the two...I know these cars are smart...but just how smart? I can see the gear ratio's causing some issues makes one think that somehow it is able to detect wheel speed versus what it is supposed to see based upon stock programming.

Thanks for the feedback Pat!

I was at the dealership and one of the techs showed that number count of how many times the computor had been violated with an aftermarket tune, the count was 3.Prolly for some dyno tuning. My 07' has had one computor upgrade since the last time I took it in for service.

Sorry guys I posted the wrong link above. This one still probably won't help with the insightful discussions above though. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/2336.shtml
