Warning: Front bumper insert loose? WTF

So I am changing the oil in my car this weekend and I notice the plastic insert on the front has popped loose on one side. Very subtle...not really even noticible until my hand bumped it and it gave a half inch or so.

No big deal..I pop it back...but now...just in front of the black plastic where it meets the paint on the bumper...there are 3 little white "lightly scratched" patches about 3/4" wide where the plastic has been rubbing and vibrating while driving.

I am at 17k....and I don't know how long it has been like that (I don't go grabbiing at plastic inserts often). So I thought I would give a word of warning...lean down and check yours to see if it is still tight.

Of course, now I have that temptation to take it in and see if they can detail it out...but I just don't think it is going to be worth the aggrivation.

Could've popped loose from hitting something in the road (small animal, semi-tire scrap, etc, or bumping something while parking). I wouldn't fret over something like that. Mine popped loose after a car kicked up a piece of tire on the highway. I popped it back in, no problems since.

I detail my car out once a week, I own a car wash and I would notice anything like this. How do you think I reacted when I found my new door ding, I was to say the least not thrilled.

Dealer should have someone who can buff it out, and it should be covered under warranty.

Ditto, I was washing my car and noticed mine was hanging out on the driver's side. I checked it closely and saw a scuff mark, I think something must have popped up off the road and hit it which unsnapped it. I snapped it back in and it's been fine. I will say they are not very securely anchored though (like many other parts on the new 'stangs).
