upper grill replacement

I know this is going to sound dumb, but I'm trying to replace my upper grill and I can't figure out how to pop the 8 retaining clips that are holding the grill in place. I know were they are located, but I can't get them to release, and I'm afraid I'm going to bust them. Is there some trick?

No real trick to it....it's just a bit tricky. It also helps, if you can get some help....in the form of someone pulling a bit on the grille, as you work the clips. The clips are hard to push with just your fingers, so use a small screwdriver behind them as a lever, to pry them out just a bit, while you or your helper pulls just a bit on the grille. Work on just a couple of them at a time....once you get a couple of them loose, the slack created will usually let the rest of the clips pop past the locking notch pretty easily and the whole thing will come right out. If I remember correctly, I worked on the vertical side clips first...once they were loose the grille popped right out.

These projects really need an extra pair of hands here. You don't want to scratch anything either, because then the money you save will be gone a new coat of paint.
