I'm getting a new set of wheels 18x8 up front and 18x9 at back. Wich will be the best size for the tires?

Im pretty sure 255/45/18 keeps the diameter as close to stock as possible. Im running 255/45/18 BFG KDW2s on my 18x9's and they fit perfectly.

My boyds are 18x8 and 18x9, I run
255/45/18
285/40/18

In my opinion this combo looks great and offer a bit of extra wheel lip protection. I would not go any narrower than 275 on a 9 in wheel though.

How do you think a 285/40/18 would look and fit on a 18x8.5 wheel ? Dan

Also can you post more pics of your rear wheel/tire combo maybe a little closer up ? Dan

honestly I didn't think it would but recently a friend of mine put 275s on his factory 18x8.5 and he isn't even pushing it. 285 should go on it just fine, just be aware of what type of sidewall the tire has. A tire with a rounder sidewall will give you a little more flexibility, I.E. Nitto 555

yeah the 275's are larger than the recommended for a 8.5" But I have thought about going that route someday.
You wouldnt have any pics of your friends by chance do ya?
