In my rather terse rundown of the costs...I DID mention R&D costs.

Trust me, I'm sure it costs no more than 20 bucks for CDC to stamp out each of those chin spoilers. They are laughing all the way to the bank.

For me, any accessory I add to my car has to be attractive AND *functional*. I'd rather add $260 towards something thats more tangible and will last more than one application...say like a set of wheels.

Really, the chin spoiler is about as ridiculous as when I see a ricer putting on a rear spoiler on a front wheel drive car.
Yeah and CD's cost pennies to make and are sold for ~$15 a piece. Pharmaceuticals are relatively cheap to make but a prescription costs hundreds without insurance. So what's your point exactly.

And a rear spoiler is about just as pointless on a rear wheel drive car. Do you know how fast you have to be going in order for a rear spoiler to actually do anything. God forbid anyone to want an attractive car.

Also, what is your background in that makes you think you know anything about plastics and how much they should cost? I have a chemical engineering degree and have worked in an injected molding factory, so I have a little background on the subject.

Kinda like the commercial with the guy at the gas station. He sees a Harley and tells the guy he had an option to buy a bike. He had trouble deciding between a bike or a dinette set. He went with the dinette set.

I'm assuming those prices listed above MUST include installation...No?
The price does not include install. The CDC price does not include paint either. It is just primed ready for paint. The Shinoda one is already painted black and ready to install.

You keep pointing out the Shinoda chin spoiler but everytime I look at a pic I can't find it. Is it invisible or something?

I see the stock bumper....is there something in that shadow there?

See....if your gonna get a front chin spoiler you need to get one that can catch the cows and get them out of the way. I'm not gonna spend that much money on a front chin spoiler that can't be seen.

Now THIS is a front chin spoiler:

I got a CDC classic chin spoiler that I will be putting on my car and it will be painted to match my car, however mine did not come primed as someone else stated. I have worked in and around body shops and the quality of this part looks to be very good.

There is so much black on the front of these cars that a black chin spoiler kind of fades away and it you dont really notice it.

I can see the chin. However, the pics are not the greatest. I am still waiting for a profile shot.

the shinoda is alright...I think I prefer the CDC classic though, for future reference this thread would be a helluva lot better if people would quit complaining about what its made out of and focus on what the thread was meant for...pics and info of the CDC on your car...just a thought.....

Thanks and I agree with back on topic. I ordered the classic just now and am going to install it unpainted. I don't want it to stick out like a sore thumb like it might be painted and I think it will go good with the black on the front of Redfire and will match with the mirrors.

I just got my classic from CDC and you will have to paint it black. It comes in an unpainted tan color. Mine should be on soon. Got to get the rear spoiler painted black also.

Can it be spray painted black? Wish I would have known about it not coming in black! Website says nothing about it. I want it black and maybe if it can be spray painted black it would be easy to do touch-ups if it rubbed a curb

You could most likely do it in matte black.

That looks good. All the shots I have seen are close up so it's hard to tell how they really look. I assume that is the Classic model?

Thanks Mike
