Street Scene Ducktail
I like it.
If I ever get lucky enough to purchase this body style, I had planned on purchasing the CDC ducktail, but had concerns about the lack of third brake light, and the fact that it just didn't seem tall enough. Guess who solved those concerns.
Only one question, how deep does the third brake light appear, since the ducktail is applied over top of it?

Once again Mike you just keep making my day! Thanx for the pix. Those are the first that I've seen of the SSE kit in natural sunlight and by the looks of it I like it even more. Now I'm trying to decide (when I order my car) whether or not to go with the body kit or just leave the body alone and just get ducktail spoiler.
The pics just get better and better. Any hesitation or uncertainty I suffered started fading with the first pics Mike posted. This last set has completely destroyed those reservations I had and replaced them with "I gotta have it as soon as my car arrives!"
Thanks Mike. Great stuff.
Now I just have to figure out who I should have paint it. Do I go to a body shop that does Ford work or to a specialty shop? Where does everyone go? How do you pick a place?

Moze- I dont know if you want to drive north a few hours but L & G in San Dimas painted my car. I have used several diffrent painters over the years of building show cars. Ill bet Ive gone through 15 painters. Sometimes I get a great paint job, only to take another car back to them and get a terrible job. L & G in San Dimas has now painted 4 or 5 of my cars and I have been happy every time. I hope it continues cause they will be doing 3 or 4 SEMA cars for me this year. Mizanin- the 3rd brake light isnt that deep- its shallow at the bottom and a little deeper at the top but I had a few people follow me and say that you can still see if fine from the sides and from the back.
Man, the decision on what ducktail to buy just got quite a bit tougher. I was set on the CDC model but I've heard quite a bit about poor customer service on their end and I don't want to have to deal with it, and the other hand, I just about can't stand the third brake light on the Street Scene model. To my eyes it sticks out like a sore thumb and ruins the new line the ducktail creates. It'd be much easier if SS just made a model with and without the third brake light cutout (with what I know about plastic molding though, I'm not sure this is feasible).
As an aside, Mustang Mike, what kind of brake kit is that on your orange mustang?

Hey Drew - I hear what your saying about the look. The CDC version does give that nice, smooth retro cucktail look. But I think Street Scene has done a fantastic job incorporating the brakelight into a great looking tail. And as you can see from reading this thread and some of the threads on the CDC version, there are quite a few of us at that want the brakelight where it is. Remember, some of have verts and so a little LED strip brakelight in the window isn't an option.
And Mike has been great about listening to people, answering questions and even get specific shots of the tail on request. Mike's patience and service pushed me over the top.

Oh I definately understand that some people want a third brake light cut-out, just my take on it is that it ruins the look of the ducktail. Different opinions make the world go round. And Mike's helpfulness is what has gotten me thinking about the Street Scene one at all, along with some negative takes on CDC's customer service. I just wish Street Scene would alleviate the whole dilemma for me and make one without the cutout

The ducktail from 3dcarbon in not so wide that is touches the 3rd brake light so it's not even an issue
Mike, saw the car at SEMA and at Knott's this past weekend, F'n sweet car!!!! A few random questions for you..... If i remember right it has the H&R springs on with those twenty's, so how is the ride in everday driving?? Also yours is supercharged as well, I believe, how happy are you with the power??? If so do you know how much HP? I looked at the paint close, L&G did a great job. I may end up using them instead of Santini's who painted my 94 lightning. At any rate great looking car!!!!!!!!
Mike, great news on the shipments. I just got my car last week (w00t), but am travelling for work now. When I can scrape out some time, I would love to drive it up for a visit and see the spoiler on the car.
Would it be better to do it during the week or on a Saturday, or what?

Moze- We are not around on the weekends but we are here from 6.00am to 5.00pm Monday through Friday if you want to stop by. Let me know ahead of time so I can try to be here. We have 3 buildings so Im not always in the office. I also travel a bit so if you dont mind, check in first- Thanks- I look forward to meeting you!
Fast351- Thanks for the complements! Which Stang was yours? I think I like the H & R springs but I'm getting another set of them. The ones on my Stang were the first ones H & R did and were proto-types. I don't know if you noticed but the car is super low in the front. H & R is sending me another set which will raise it about 1/2 inch in the front. It rides a little rough but I don't mind it too much. It rode better when I first did the conversion but the springs settled in and it made the ride a little rougher. Again I think it will be better once the new springs are on . It does scrape a little over driveways so again I want to raise it. Unfortunately, the supercharger is mostly show and no go at this point. I don't have the computer calibrated yet. I'm waiting for Vortech to finish their design so that they can complete my car. They also used my car for a proto-type so again the work is not done yet. The supercharger looks and sounds great but it doesn't work. ( don't tell anyone!) They think it will be around 400 horse when its done. We shall see... L & G does really nice work. I have also used Santini with great results in the past. If you go to L & G, ask for Theresa and tell her I sent you. If you go to Santini, tell Pete I said hi!
