Mike - thanks for the input. I didn't think it was biased, but it was very helpful. My concern was the paint, but you spoke to that - so I am good.

My only other concerns would be it staying on with the tape (which has been brought up a few times) and water and dirt getting between the spoiler and the deck-lid. Is that a problem and can it be helped?

By the way, based on how responsive and helpful you have been on this whole thread, my ducktail decision is now firmly leaning to Street Scene. Thanks a lot for listening and being supportive.

Thanks Moze- by the way- I had posted this before, but we are in Costa Mesa so if you ever drive up this way, stop by. ( next to John Wayne airport) We cant sell to you, but we can show you the wing and any other Mustang part you might want to see. I think the tape is going to be good. Traditionally, we have been in the truck accessory business. We have made tailgate wings for a while now in urethane. They have stuck very well with tape. I know on a trunk lid you have the potential for water to build up between the wing and the trunk lid but I dont think its going to be a problem. Again we are going to add screws as well. My only concern is that the screws are a little tricky to put in and you have to drill. Some people just dont want to drill into their cars but the screws would add another layer of protection.

We just posted some pictures up on the internet of the Street Scene ducktail if you are intrested in looking at it in more detail. Go to www.streetsceneeq.com . Also, the instructions should be up sometime next week if you want to know how to install it. They will also be in the internet.

Mike, you and Street Scenes are part of what make this board so great.
From posting pics here as soon as you took them, to taking requests for specific pics, to listening to what we really wanted (brake light), to offering for someone to come down to the shop for a test fit. Wow. Talk about service.

I'm still undecided on getting any spoiler, but I have to give you and SS a HUGE Way to go, Mike. :worship:

Oh, and do you think you could post (or email) larger pics so we can see details better?

Thanks, again, Mike.

Thanks again Mike. Good to know. I think I will go with the tape first and see how that goes, unless you go with the screws on the SS Mustang based on your experience.

And I will take you up on the offer as soon as the car comes in. I would love to bring it in and see how it looks on. I am looking forward to it.

I also second what Stang Nut said. You are a great asset to the board.

I ordered the CDC spoiler and optional 3rd brakelight and I'm not sorry BUT I appauld Mike for stepping up to the plate answering just about every question asked and photos requested. If I'm in the market for anything else for my car I will certainly be looking at your products because of your customer service. WELL DONE MIKE! :worship:

Wow-thanks all. I really appreciate your feedback as well. I just got home and checked in on this thread. You are all part of our R & D department. We have ideas to build diffrent products but you guys all help us fine tune them and help us bring better products to market. We had the ducktail back off the car today so that we could do the instructions with proper pictures. The bad news is that I didn’t get to some of the pictures you all were asking for. We will get these pictures taken and up as soon as possible. All of us at Street Scene appreciate this sight. I often print out what you all say from this sight and pass it along to my team. Up till this year, we were predominately a truck and sport compact company. I wasn’t sure if the Mustang family would accept an outsider and a name they hadn’t heard of, but the response has been tremendous. I have had a couple of Mustangs over the years so going back to doing Mustang parts has been a lot of fun. - Mike

We will start full production on Monday. We made some changes to the mold today and are happy with how it now works. We should be shipping parts by the end of next week.

Awesome. Definitely on the list of stuff for body mods, as well as stripes.

Oh also, do you think it would be possible to mold the spoiler into the trunklid and end caps? I'm thinking that would look awesome.

Oh yeah, where can I go buy this thing at, anyhow?

I dont know if you can mold it. It always scares me when people mold things cause its bound to crack at some point. Things move around, urethane expands and contracts, your chassis and body will flex up and down driveways etc. You might get a body shop to try it but Im not sure it will hold. This is a case where a wing in fiberglass would mold better than urethane. ( see my notes earlier about fiberglass vrs urethane) You can purchase this from any Street Scene distributor. I have to be carefull to be good to all Street Scene distributors but you might try: Musclecardirect, California Mustang or streetbeat. If you pick up 5.0 magazine, there are a few Street Scene distributors listed. Or if you want to try and find one near your house, call our customer service department at 888 477 0707 and they might be able to recommend someone to you.

Wow! We're an R and D Department! Thanks Mike. Your spoiler will probably make its way to my car. If I only had a car.... Street Scenes apparently listens to its customers, and that is so good to know. I am having trouble with the stock hood, though. Will SS be designing any aftermarket hoods for the '05? How 'bout a '65 Shelby style, or one with reverse scoops a 'la '67-'68, or 3D Carbon's Boy Racer? Please........?

Since we're part of your R&D department, will we be offered any incentives for contributing? How about discounts for TMS members?

I second that. My preference would be for something between 3D Carbon's Boy Racer hood and the 2007 Shelby GT500 hood. It's got to have air extractors which are functional and cool looking. The stock hood builds up way too much pressure at speed.

Just being honest, Mike. I always give praise when and where it is due. However, on the flipside, I'm just as quick (and usually pretty harsh) to voice my opinion when something is, or someone has, screwed up. (as most of you know) You should read some of my comments (and emails to them) on the CDC spoiler. I was absolutely in love with the style and shape of theirs and so I was devistated when they didn't make a place for the light. They lost a LOT of business if you ask me. And not just from the spoiler F-up. I have little respect for any of their products now. That's just how much I liked that spoiler.

I've got the CDC DT, I love it. But, agreed, their customer service is poor. I won't be ordering anything else from them.

I'll vote for a 65/66 Shelby hood or just the scoop. I like the one Roush had on their concept as far as the width, but I hate seeing ones that slope back at the front edge. And unfortunately, that's all that's out there right now. It looks lame to begin with, but then add in the fact ALL the aftermarket scoops look that way and I'd never even consider one.
