Steeda Cowl Hood Detailed Pictures??

I searched and searched and have yet to find any under hood and looking out the windshield while driving pics of Steedas cowl hood.

A few question for those who have their cars:

Does anyone know if you could use the MRT hood struts with this hood.

Is it worth the extra $160 for the lighter of the two cowl hoods

Can someone explain how this vents air through the engine bay

I see you are required to have hood pins for speeds over 85. I'm wondering if the twist type hood pins would work on this hood.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I will try and get some pics from the inside and of the under side of the hood this morning for you.
Don't know about the struts though. I am not sure if the fiberglass would crack or not.
The extra $160 comes into play considering you are paying for a true cowl induction hood as opposed to the other, which is only partially open.
As for ventilation the openings allow for more air to flow through your engine compartment by creating a channel.
As long as you have some kind of hood pins it shouldn't be a problem.

I have to admit that the pics I took are not the greatest representation of the actual view you will have. To be honest I have a better view when I am sitting in my drivers seat than the picture represented. From the picture it looks like one can see over the hood which is not the case, but hope they help. If you need any more pics don't hesitate.

Cool! Finally, Thanks!!
This looks like the "partial cowl" version? Only open on the drivers side?

I wonder how critical the hood pin thing is. Ya think maybe it's just a CYA statement made by Steeda?

I would have to look at the numbers again but I believe it was approx. $ 1000.

Just for the paint? Or are you talking prep, paint and install?

Sorry about that I should have clarified. You are correct, the number I gave you includes prep/paint/& install. And Rich just to give you a little feedback on the quality and care that went into the paint work, Steeda repainted the hood three times just to make sure it was done correctly. So, even though it was a little pricey, the work reflects the monetary investment.
