Sooooo I did a *little* engine bay cleanup/rewiring
Tim - haha thanks man. A CAI is going to be among the next mods I do. However, I will be making my own CAI and buying a prefab one. Im modeling it after Kenne Bell's CAI location for the s197 supercharger where the intake goes into the bumper underneath the passenger headlight! As per your comment, I believe the heater lines run into the cabin behind the intake manifold and you have to remove the entire dash assembly to get to it. So I can only imagine it wouldnt be a very fun task lol
Amazing! I'm in the middle of a resto/mod on a 71 Charger and had to put in a complete custom wiring harness bumper to bumper, and although it doesn't have half as many wires as this, I know I can do this to my stang!!! And so can anyone else with simple tools and patience. I never done more than play with car stereos my whole life and everything worked on my charger install on the first try and the engine fired on the first pull.
The advice on here about finding the manufactur of the correct plugs to make your own drop in harness is correct. Search the net and you'll find em. I've seen at least a half dozen manufacturers of different wheather proof type plugs out there. Just gotta find the same one Ford used.
Somebody can flame me if I'm wrong but the part of the A/C system near the brake booster is the receiver/dryer. I hate that location!!! Find a good A/C shop the can custom make/bend/flare/fit some hard lines and I know you can move it to your desired location now that you've freed up some room. Might be able to do something the make the stock Ford receiver/dryer better looking while your at it or maybe hide it behind the bumper somewhere. Or stick it by the computer if it will fit.

Any good wire tuck won't have issues, but the "good" depends on a lot of things. Personally, I would have placed the computer either in the passenger footwell or glove box.
I don't do trannies
or rear-ends anymore!

I'm curious on your placement, seems the fender would be subjected to less temperature swings than the factory location?

Eagle is correct and he informed me some questions had arisen. As of right now not a single wiring issue has surfaced and I have moved even more wires/hoses within the engine bay. Ill post updated pics later when its sunny out. As for making a premade harness I hate to say it but I just dont have to the time or money to invest in making one anymore - sorry guys. I chose the fender well for the PCM because it wouldve been extremely difficult to not only run the wires but conceal the PCM within the cabin. Pretty much looked it at like Ford designed it to withstand the elements and the inside of the fender was even less exposed than the engine bay so why not. Ill help you guys out with any questions you might have though.

I'm good friends with the fellow that did this, his cars still alive and well and never developed any issues. He DD's the car and has actually removed ever more wiring on the firewall towards the drivers side. A wire fiend I tell ya!

P.S. Tell your friend to post more pics!
P.P.S. Those rods are really working for us.
