beware magnetic trunk lid blackouts...
procrastinated on painting my 06 trunklid since new, have had several mag blackouts (they degrade over time- mine sits out yearround, although still has never been on a salted road)...anyways, finally painted it- after this happened. in defense of the blackouts, i hadnt lifted/waxed for about a year under it, so my own fault- they warned me... also finally painted the black separations in the taillights- do think they look better,
what happens if magnetic blackout isnt removed for waxing after a year...
couldnt find right 'semigloss', tried spray on bedliner after stripping/acid etch/prime... like the texture. painted taillight gaps I like much better than all red or the stick on plastic frames...

YIKES!
Looks good now though.
I have one of those blackouts, but it's stuck to a metal heat ducting section in the basement. It was cheap to me, I put it on for looks once, just to see if I liked it ... and I did like it ... but I recalled a different kind of blackout some body had that did the same thing, so I din't leave it on the car more than a few minutes.
