Silverstar Fog Lamp Bulbs - 9145ST
Try putting 9005ST's in there! Man, I was getting flashed all the time. Turns out they are Silverstar high beam lamps! The low beam lamps are keyed differently, so they wouldn't fit. I love the 9005's for the backroads, but I have to turn them off when another car is approaching. They really light up the sides of the road for optimum "critter" detection.

Did you find a kit that converts fog to driving lights? Different reflectors?
I have been looking to do the same thing. For me avoiding deer on country roads
is a much higher priority than my need for fog lights.

It's not a kit. Basically, it involves fitting a set of driving lights from a European VW Golf II in place of the stock head lamps. I am right in the middle of it now (trying to figure out where I want to mount the relays!) and I can tell you that a lot of fabrication is involved and you WILL have to modify the stock grill insert so it will clear the adjustor tabs on the slightly larger diameter lights.
A bolt on would be nice, but I wouldn't hold my breath for one. The GT fogs have a pretty strange mounting configuration due to the compound angle they are sitting at.

experiment with. I would like to see how you make out
with the Golf lights so please post some pictures when you're finished.
Thanks again.
