Hello, and thanks for the welcome. Nope the car is not lowered...yet, I plan on doing that after I get a new front fascia. I have a question about one I saw a while back but I'll post it in another thread. thx!

Hey Inverter Man, welcome to the site. Question, if you don't mind telling, how much did that whole set up run you, the tires, rims and install. I am putting money away for tires and rims and I was looking to do the same set up you have. Also, have you felt any changes in acceleration with the 18" chrome wheels, are they heavier?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Hello, I haven't noticed any lag at all really. I think the rims are only 1 lb. heavier than the stock 17' wheels that were on there. I HAVE noticed increased handling though, thats for sure...second looks as well :-)

The tires were $1023.33 installed. That includes tires, lifetime balancing, env. fees, tax, chrome stems, etc. etc. They wouldn't put the front ones on because they required spacers so they mounted the tires on the wheels and I had to do it at home which sucked.

The rims and bullet lugs were $854.98 delivered.

NICE looking vert you got there... my wheels are 18 x9.5 front and back, tires are 285/40 rear 255/45 front Dunlop SP9000. Looks like you got the same wheel tire setup. Great minds think alike.

RIGHT ON!! I have been watching those rims and wheels on EBay for a while. How do you like them? I love the retro look. I think I want a little wider though. Let me know how you like them. Joe

9" rims are big enough to go 285 in the back. I love mine, before I had my car I was planning on the Mach 1 style. The only Mach 1 style rims I like better are the Magnum 500s (complete retro).

I love them, infact I just put them back on this week. I'm with Enfynet I really wanted the Magnum 500s but they are too expensive and only 8" wide. I am definitely going for 285s in the rear when I need new tires.

Ok, here we go...finally got wheels/tires...and took some pics in the daylight...

MB Motorsport VR5S 18x8 (front), 18x9 (rear)
BFGoodrich gForce KDW2 NT 255/45-18 (front), 285/40-18 (rear)

Honestly, if I could do it over again, I would have gotten the same front wheels/tires, but gotten 19 inchers in the back and a tire with the *same* sidewall ratio as the front tires. I want that look of having bigger wheels/tires in the back and I feel that the tires' sidewall ratio has to be the same all the way around to achieve that look (so that there is actually more sidewall in the back than front).

I have Roush rear springs to kill that nasty gap in the rear wheel well...I just gotta get them out of the living room and onto my car.
