The shaker makes your car louder?

How does it effectively channel air into the box at a high enough velocity to be beneficial? It looks like a lot of turns for the air to make before getting to the filter, which blocks the path of smooth airflow anyways. I just don't see how it works properly. I want one because it looks nice, but I don't want to spend all that money on something that just looks nice. Especially people with CAI who have it just dumping into midair close to the airbox but not in it.... what gives?

It's not meant to be a performance mod. It's 99.9% appearance. If you think about it ends up costing about as much as getting a new hood and having it painted would cost. The Shaker isn't for everybody. It is what it is you either love it or hate it. For me the Shaker did not make the car any louder. It's just a piece of eye candy.

I love seeing it shake going down the highway.

You don't want to waste $800 on a part that doesn't do anything but look nice but yet you spent god knows how much on GT500 conversion.

there is a very small performance gain...

so says cdc...

your not going to feel it, most people dont anyway.

and yes, it does supply cold air into the air box... and any more cold air in the vicinity of a CAI is going to be beneficial.

its not a performance mod, but it is functional, and it looks good

lol, good point... but it's a whole conversion, not a little black scoop.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've never seen one in action. I'd like to though. Anyone in the San Antonio area with one? Hit me up.

You also joined the trimmed down club! Do you have a cover on your air filter and if so why?

Yes, I have a drycharger on my K&N filter. This is due to the air feed from the lower grille. It helps to minimize potential water issues.

Looks great
See you've trimmed yours as well. That huge shroud just didn't go well with me. Very similar to mine.
Congrats!
