Thanks alot 2L8IWON for posting those pics in detail for how to do this modification. I switched out the front end on Friday and my new hood yesterday. It all still needs to be painted, but with your pictures and all the conversion went incredibly well and was extremely easy.

Now I just have to wait for the call from the painter telling me he is ready for the car to come over for paint. Since its basically in storage for the winter, it might be as long as 2-3 months till this call comes as I told him it is no huge hurry (which while true, totally sucks as I would really prefer it to be done).

So, how did that new Gen 3 venom hood fit? Did you get the pins installed? If so, some pics would be nice!

sure...happy to. enjoy (I know I am... =] ).

The hood is attached on the hinges in the back near the windshield, but there are NO hoodpins installed yet or the stock hood latch either. I have the latch, but not the correct bolts, so the hood is just laying down in place due to its own weight. We did NO adjustment for fit. All we did is attach the hood in the back and lay it down. By the way it sits, the passenger side by the headlight does sit slightly up (maybe a millimeter or two), but I have no doubt that can be 'fixed' when the latch and hood pins are installed and the hood stops adjusted. I didnt put in any of the lights since it still needs to be painted and seemed silly to put it all in to just have to have the painter take it all back out again. The gaps seem almost perfect already (again, with no adjustment by us at all).

The car is parked for the winter, but when the painter calls, I wanted it ready to go for him. I am also going to order new springs for it and install them over the winter as well, so the stance should drop on all four corners about 1".

thanks for posting them!

That is going to look sweet once everything gets painted. I bet this will be a "long" winter awaiting the paint.

What springs do you plan to install??

I read somewhere that for my wheels and tire combo as well as me not wanting anything more than a 1" drop, the Elbach Pro set is the way to go, but I need to do some quick research to confirm that is correct. I cant let it drop too far since with my +24 offset wheels and tires, I might get a rub if its too far. I figured this would be an optimum time to do this as well with the paint needing to get done and us having to put all the lights and all in it. Why not do the springs at the same time??

And yeah....waiting for the winter to end is gonna be ugly...heck, I've had the front end since October and the hood since the first of November....Its been a ***** just waiting for thanksgiving to get here so I could begin work on the update. Now three/four months for winter??

Wow it feels like forever again that I was doing this conversion. Doesn't it Robbie? I was just glad I didn't have to do it again with the new car.

Mines in the shop right now. The dealership wanted 1800 +tax. So I went to my friend who owns a shop and got everything for me for 1300 +tax. But I'm paying 500 for paint+install

I got my front conversion (minus hood) for around $1300. That was through a dealer a wholesale pricing I believe.

GT 500 rear bumper.

Hello KC so I messed up the side of the rear bumper of my 07 GT500. A small chunk of it actually came off thanks to a bolt sticking out of a fence. I was wondering how much it would cost to replace it. I was looking at your Hot Sheets and saw the prices and the links to the discussion on the CS vs GT500 bumper. So would a GT 500 bumper still cost me more? I am confused on how different are the lower sections of the bumpers. Do the CS bumpers not have the same texture as the GT500 ones along the bottom sections? Thanks for your time.

to make it short and easy, the GT/CS rear bumper and the GT500 rear bumper are the same (texture and all) just painted differently get you a GT/CS rear bumper, and some black Duplicolor Bumper Coating and spray the bottom like the GT500's is. taht's what i did to mine.

(not the best pic of the rear bumper, but it was all i could find at the moment)
