I'm thinking of getting my windows tinted in my 05. A number of local people that I know have gotten their windows tinted to help block our hot sun and the tinting gets scratched after a few months on the front windows from obviously putting the window up and down. They say if any dust gets into the window seal it perhaps scratches the tinting. Has anybody else seen the same problem? After looking at the posts on other sites about window tinting, I might just get the back window tinted to keep the sun and UV rays off the rear seats. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks! :worship:

There has been many posts on this. Do a search on window tint scratches. The problem is with the hard plastic seal on the inside of the window. People have placed a strip of felt over it to save the tint from scratches.

I had the same problem. I took the door panels off and installed adhesive-backed felt (99 cents a sheet at Hobby Lobby) to my vinyl seals. It was very easy and only took an hour and a half.

I added a diagram with step-by-step instructions on how to remove the door panel, it is very easy.

Trust me, if I can do it, so can you. Why settle for less

My dealer has replaced my tint once already from the scratches and now it's starting to get scratched up again. Guess I'm gonna have to go to Hobby Lobby too.
