I hate the look of the inspection stickers that I see on everyone's right rear bumper.

I've looked at some solutions with Metal plates that screw into the bottom of the bumper or sit next to the rear plate.

Has anyone with this problem tried any of these with the 05?

For the bumper mounted plate, is the rear bumper plastic or metal? How muxh effort would be involved in screwing this in the place?

For the license plate attached plate, is there enough room on the rear bumper? It's looks like the rear plate gets inset into an indentation that's just big enough for the plate and wouldn't accomodate anything attached next to or below the license plate.

Can anyone off any guidance?

Thanks.

Ken,
The plate is metal, for the bottom of bumper need to drill 2 small holes.
For lic plate, need to fabricate a bracket to extend out and over the lower lip of lic. housing, but cleaning behind would be tuff! I've seen some cars with it attached to the rear deck lid!
Happy Trails!!!

I've seen a few cars with Hawaii plates on them in Virginia. I always assume they are military, since there are a number of naval and army bases in the region.

Is Hawaii the only state in the union that requires inspection stickers on the bumper? Everywhere I've lived, they've been on the inside of the windshield.

Yeah! been on the rear bumper from back in the 60s.(when we had chrome bumpers) police wants it there, was on windshield before. With all cars having plastic bumpers now, it's a pain! So we make plates!
Happy Trails!!!

Well, one more little price of paradise.

I'm not sure if I'm up for drilling holes.

Assuming I can get the dealer to give me the stickers to do it myself, I'm going to see if there's room to attach the bracket to the license plate frame.

Exactly. You own a 2005 Mustang AND you live in Hawaii? Give me a break. I'm GLAD you have to put a stick on your bumper. Just kidding.

Maybe Hawaii could have a more cost effective way for a diplay and just have the removable window stickers like the next oil change style at x # miles then people would be Happy and the Gov't for saving the bucks ? just my two cents Ed

I know. Life is really tough. If it makes you feel any better, my salary really dropped moving back out here...

I'm sure. Sad but true these days. 5-0 doesn't make that much. Given the risks they take.

Sorry when I see Hawaii I think of the show I guess its like every police person's job they have to love it for what is paid for the risk ? I think that Gov't should allocate more from that Tax dollar toward them , and that goes for around the world , maybe help stop corruption ?

Yeah. I know several FBI agents. Some of them took pay cuts to join the bureau, but they all love what they're doing. It would be nice if we actually paid police, fire, teachers, etc. what they worth.
