Removing Nightshades Tint?
Removing Nightshades Tint?
I have a stock GT grille with lights that I tried to spray with Nightshades. It looks OK, but is a bit on the purple-ly side.
I didn't sand the lenses, is there something I can use to remove the tint without making the lens appear dull?
Thanks!!

Installing the Nightshade was a nightmare for me. I got the tailights done but couldnt get the clearcoat completely smooth looking. I SUCK at the rattle can. But after I was done and put it on I realized one was darker than the other and also the clearcoat was tacky and hazy.
So I had two options, spray the good taillight darker or completely redo the **** tailight.
I did option two. To get the Nightshade/Clearcoat off I used a sanding sponge from 3M and took it all the way down with water sanding. However, once it was back to stock is was scratched to ****. Luckly with Nightshade and clearcoat reapplied the scratches arent visible at all.
So I guess I'm saying that sanding doesnt seem like a great option unless you're repainting them. Maybe paint remover from Autozone or something.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Goo-Gone will remove VHT nightshades. Not sure about if it harms the plastic though. On the thread I read it on, they were trying to get it off of their taillights, im assuming they had already sanded them at some point. You could always give it a try on some other plascit first (mayb a cheap bike reflector?), to see if it harms the plastic. GOOD LUCK
