I want to do the same thing. The tri-bar logo looks a lot nicer than the GT logo.
AMEN!

Dang, that looks good.
Did you just buy that?
How much?

Jason
Sorry, Jason, but it's not mine. I pulled the pics from the other link. John, who works at AAI had it to show everyone how easy it would be to change.

I've got a tri-bar mustang from my first 66 - I've thought about putting it on my new 05, but man I hate the thought of drilling the four holes for it. It's smaller than the cap though - I'd probably put it on a front qtr-panel where it was on the 66.
I just bought a '66 or '67 gas cap off of eBay (unsure of which it is... see the pic). Does this look like the one off of your '66? Can anyone i.d. the year for it?

After cleaning up the chrome and touching up the faded colors, I was thinking of doing some modding on it to see if it would fit as a replacement for the GT badge. I'll fill you all in on how it goes if it works!

Cheers,
Juris

The current GT emblem isn't far off from the old one. Here's the gas cap from the '67-'68 Mustang GTs. I guess the only real differences are the GT being side-by-side now instead of vertical and the new fake cap has FORD along the bottom.

Cheers,
Juris
