I am going to purchase rear window louvers and have a choice between aluminum and ABS plastics. I plan to paint them the car color. I am not real comfortable with the plastic louvers and am wondering what material was used in the original ones. Does anyone have any experience with ABS plastics? Will it turn white or gray if not painted? Will it hold up to low temps around
zero F ? Thanks

I believe the older original mustang louvers were aluminum. I was told by spoilers4less that the ABS louvers were treated for UV protection and wouldn't discolor if unpainted.
I would like to see a set of ABS louvers before I made a decision as ABS is fine with me if they don't look cheap or like they will break. Both are hinged to clean your window. Aluminum is $160 more as well. The difference would buy a set of side window ouvers.

Where are you getting the aluminum louvers, and do they have the scoops in aluminum instead of the louvers. Thanks for any info, still undecided on scoops etc.

Hope this isn't a repost... as I can't find my original after I did a search and found an old post, maybe I posted to an archive? anyway..

Rear Window Louvers for the 05...

I've looked and looked for these since I bought my 05 in November.. I found them at California Mustang, and placed an order early February knowing that they would not be shipping until the first week of April. Well, April rolls around and I contact them about my 2 month order and they tell me there is a manufacture problem and now they won't be available until end of May, first of June!?? So I go hunt'n again for the rear window louvers, I don't want the ABS plastic ones, figure the Florida sun will tear them apart anyway.. so I find MRT has the rear window louvers and I call them voice on the phone April 5th and they tell me theirs are coming in that week! So I cancel my order with California Mustang and order with these guys.. well April 5th was 2 weeks ago and I still have not gotten any info on my order, each week I get the same answer, "next week"!!? What's up with these people?? Does anybody have a reliable source to get these rear window louvers now?

Thanks

I think all the retailers are getting their louvers from the same 1 or 2 manufacturers.

My partner at work said he recalls the old louvers made
howling wind noise. Do the new ones?
I found these:
