So what'd you do to get them open? A nice How-To would be helpful.
What's the condition of the lense? Is it reusable?

Pics of the edges of both the lense and the bucket would be great.

im gettn rdy to post pics. I cooke them, then seperated them. just takes technique. i used a screwdriver.

The bucket indent where the lense goes ( itsl iek a channel) got warped sum from seperation o nthefirst one, not tht bad at all on the second, but removing the letfo ver glue sucks. But anydistortion can be fixed with heat and just holding it till it cools.

Great to hear.
Can you give some details on your technique? What temp was the oven? How long did you leave it in there? Did you "bake" it, pry a little, "bake it more, etc untill it was all the way off?

Careful. We don't need you getting hurt... or messing up the buckets when you put them back in for the glue.

Take close-up pics of the edges before you seal them back up, please.

Hippiehead,

That is great. I had no luck. I tried the same thing but they just melted in the oven. I also got cut seperating the lenses. Good luck with it. Maybe I'll get the courage to try it again, or better yet, I'll just pay you to do mine after you've done a few of these and perfected the technique.

Please post pictures of the entire project. I'm intersted to see how you get them back together and seal them. After I got mine apart, it looked like there was no way they would go back together and seal properly.

Hey Roger, you might be the painted bucket king, but you need to slow up on the caffein, your typing sucks, I just hired an out of work hyroglyphics translator just so i could keep up and understand this great tread...lol
Seriously though, if you could just read over what you type before you hit send, it would help us all understand you perfectly.
Thanks, Dave

Careful Hippiehead, next thing you know you are going to have to find yourself a set of those 20k mile boxes like Hatchman has for parts shipping
Shoot, I would be interested in a set for sure if you decide to take this project on as a core swap deal like the cam covers.
