Well he did finally respond to my question. Didn't answer on how they are sealed or how he got them open. All he said was:
"They are totaly resealed wont leak or condens !!!I would not sell this mod if it where'nt quality!!!"

I actually talked with CDC and they told me that the headlight used on thier concept was actually for a Jaguar. Its not the same size as the ones we have on our stangs.

Why not try to get the parts instead? Then we don't have to worry about unsealing them and then resealing them back. If you can get me a set of those buckets and covers that are still fresh and haven't ever been sealed, I'll take care of the rest.

I agree - if I worked there, it might be possible to get a single set for personal use - perhaps a rejected set that was "slightly damaged". However, for legal and ethical reasons - anything beyond that would not be likely.

When I got in my wreck a couple weeks ago, the tab "arms" on both of my headlamp assemblies were broken. The headlamp "boxes" themselves were fine. So, I will try to experiment tonight with the broken ones to see if I can figure out how to get the lenses off without hurting them or the headlamp.
That guy selling the headlamp on eBay for $30 said on his auction that one (or more) of the tab arms are broken. You can't use it on your car if one of the arms are broken. So that's why he can't sell it. And the bad thing is it's all one piece. I asked K.C. about this and he said you have to buy the whole assembly... and they are $102 a piece. From K.C. anyway... they are probably more expensive from your dealer.

KC is usually the choice for parts, for the good prices and service, but this time I think Saleen takeoffs have him beat by $50 or so.
I've been wanting to do this for a while too, I wonder if with a Dremel tool we can just cut between the lens and the bucket, none of this oven thing that could potentially melt your whole assembly (as it obviously has happened already).
I thought the lights were a lot more expensive, but if they are only $150, that might just be my very next mod (I like the idea of plexiglass to seal the front instead of the OEM lense)

Did anyone check out theseRoush Lights, cheap
Not a bad price considering the work in them and the cost of the lights. I think Im going to wait till someone puts the turn signals in there so I can get rid of the ones on the bumper. They do look pretty good though

The other concern is how well the lights are sealed. If not properly sealed, this would cause problems down the line with condensation. It might also cause premature failure of the lights.

How about trying "spot" heating? Instead of heating the whole assembly in the oven, just heat the seam since that's how they seal it. All they do when they seal it is heat up the edges of both pieces (the lense and the bucket) and then press them together real hard.

I don't thinkt we are asking for them to give us a set of rejected lights, we are simply asking if they would be willing to sell the lights as a kit as opposed to a complete assembly.
If you can PM me the name of the company I can contact their sales department and see if I can arrange a goup buy. It seems like there are a few of us that are interested in this mod.
