So I'm looking to get my windows tinted and I'm looking for the best deal. Is it a bad idea to try and put tint on myself that I can buy from AM, or should I fork over the extra money and just have it done at a local shop. Is putting on tint hard or what's the deal. Thanks for any tips.

 

It's not hard to get done, but it seems to take experience to get done right. I've done it a few times, but for the Mustang I paid a pro since I wanted it done right.

 

I know shops vary but what is an average price for getting windows tinted. A shop near me quoted a base of $160 but I forget exactly what that covered. But it was his starting price for a mustang.

 

I think I paid $150. I had mine done several years ago in Florida, there's lots of competition for window tint so I'm sure that drives the price down a bit.
