New Tires

So I am currently driving an '08 GT and it's getting to be that time to switch out my tires. I currently have the stock Pirrelli P235/55 ZR17's that came with the car. Although I have enjoyed the Pirrelli's, I wanted to get some ideas as to what else is out there. Any advice or recommendations for my next set of tires would be greatly appreciated.

do you need an all season tire or can you go with a summer tire?

I live in SoCal so I guess an all season tire wouldn't be necessary.

I've been reading some pretty good reviews on the Goodyear Eagle GT tires. Anybody have experience with these? Likes/dislikes?

The Eagle GTs are decent. Also the Continental DWs, General Exclaim UHPs and Hankook V12s are all great buys!
