Actually I think this is the hood, made by Maier, sold by Mustang Depot.

Not a very good look in person. If your interested in one some business associates of mine bough one for their 68 mustang and went a different direction because the scoop was over powering the hood and it was to blocky of a look. I tend to agree with them. Just my 2-cents worth. I’m sure if your interested they might sell it at a discounted price but I cant speak for them. :notnice:

I'll see if I can find a photo of the hood installed before they changed it.

If thats the look you want then go for it but in my opinion that hood doesn't look that great. It would look alright if it just had the scoop or just the louvers but having both makes it look a bit confused. I'd go with the CDC shaker hood. Now that looks cool!

Had a Maier Racing hood on my 86 GT. The scoop looked like they had molded it off of the 82 GT. It worked well with the first generation Fox lines. Looks like the exact same scoop in the pictures.

As for the quality, the hood was molded underneath, had threaded plates to accept all of the factory hinge and latch parts. It always had a slight lift on the left side, but was able to adjust the hood bumpers to get the twist out.

I think the nose makes that one. Of course the '68 Shelby was the best looking classic 'stang imho, so this one really does it for me.

I still don't understand the concept of replacing an aluminum hood with a plastic one covered in fake stuff

I like the stock hood too, but it really needs some venting at the rear.
