Last pic of mudslaps installed. I also tried to get the pic with the sun hitting them so it would be worst case. Not real ugly IMO.

Could you have gotten these painted to the color of your car?

Hi SuperSonicBlueMustang.
You can have they painted on your own. Only come in black from Ford. Check out this earlier thread. Origianl Sin had his painted Legend Lime to match his car.

I tell ya what, if I were in an area that routinely damaged the back part of my car, I would put hot pink mudflaps on the thing if thats all I could get.

I think the flaps that you folks have are very understated and they are doing thier job.

Thanks Jessica!

I saw a picture a while back where someone had them painted, it didn't look as good. Right now the black kind of disapears against the tire.

Janet,
I agree with you. Leave them black and they kind of disappear into the rear tires. That's what I prefer. I live in Ohio where we get 30-40 inches of snow in the winter. They throw 50% salt and 50% crushed rock on the roads to get traction. Every car up here should have mudflaps like the UPS semi's. If your not throwing rocks on your own car the guy in front of you is throwing them at your winshield. It take until about June for the spring rains to wash the grit off the roads. These are so easy to put on and take off that if you wanted to do a car show than pull them off. Put back on the drive to work. No big deal.

I agree these are not too detrimental to the looks of the car. I bet road tar and paint chips would look worse than the flaps.

Maybe all Bucky knows of mudguards are the ones with the naked chrome ladies on them.

Hi Eleanor Dreaming,
You are correct. I know you have hit a big chunck of tar/grease or road pizza that someone else hit first and and had it flung up the side of your car. It does not matter if you live in Arizona or Ohio or any other state. Junk and gunk on the side of your car stinks. These mud flaps from Ford are not that unsightly. I would not prefer to put them on the car but I am a realist. I was out on the road tonight for about a 60 mile trip after installing the mud flaps last nite and guess what. The rear end of the quater panels are as clean as they were last nite. And there was no body honkiong there horn or pointing at the rear end of my car. Do what is best for your pony and the heck with everyone who is negitive on them. I can appreciate that some people will not ever want them on their car but they do the job. It may be adviseable to remove them before entering certain states but that up to you. Get them and enjoy them!!!!!!

Hi Icemant180,
I know there is none available thru Ford yet. Not sure if they are going to make them or not. My bet is not. I purchased some flat black plastic mudflaps from the local autoparts house and am cutting them down in size for the front. I am making them quite small so they are not as big and clunky.

I have been considering getting the Ford splash guards because of all the road construction around here. They should blend nicely on my black GT. Anybody with a Black Mustang have any pics of the splash guards installed?
