for the money that you are spending on the ugly hiney mudflaps, you could afford to paint the qt panels every year or two, and it would be well worth the money so that your 05 didn't look like an 18 wheeler w/ mudflaps.
Just My Opinion.....but then again....I'm probably right as usual...

I could paint the panels every two years for how much? The mudflaps cost $35, I'm thinking that paint might be slightly more.

Whether you are right or wrong, it's my car. If you want to pay for it I'll gladly consult you before doing any modifications to it. What was that old saying about opinions??? They are like what????

Completely uncalled for.

Consider this a warning

Hey no problemo Cletus. We all appreciate your opinion... we just don't share it! Maybe next time your momma will tell ya the ole axiom that there's three sides to every story; yours, mine, and the truth. And your sides no closer to the truth than anybody elses!

I don't know why you'd need a snowplow in Georgia, but I'm sure the neighbors appreciate it when they can follow you down the road after a big storm. Thanks Plow King!

To me that looks like hiney, but to each his own right? Since you paid for it, and don't need any advice on what to do with your car, more power to you! I'm not asking for you to like anything I've done with my car, if you want to laugh, go ahead, I could really give a rats *$$. Since you are so gawd awfully offended, why don't you go off and play in another forum and let the grownups talk.

Hey Bucky,
Nothing wrong with protecting your investment. By your tone I'd bet you wear your ball hat backwards all the time. Am I right??? I got mine from the local dealer yesterday. Got a white Vert and am tired of cleaning the entire side of the car every other day. Hey Azlitigator. I think they blend pretty well. Makes your tires look wider. Hope mine look as good. Bucky, didn't your momma tell ya if you couldn't say anything nice deep your mouth shut!!! Just my opinion. And I am usually right!!!!!!!!

Do you happen to have any pics of the mud guards on the white vert? I need to do something before all the paint is chipped away from the rocker panels.

Hi Shannon,
Haven't had time to put them on yet. Hope to do in the next couple of days. I will post a pic when they are on. It will give Bucky something to comment on again.

Dude!!!! Why???? Dirt / Mud is not going to hurt your paint. Just hose it off before you wash it.
The sad thing is my wife asked what in the world is someone putting mudguards on a Mustang for.
I promise....that is very sad.
She isn't really a car person.

dirt/mud will wash off but Love-Bug guts and blood doesnt wash off that easy.
Mudflaps arent bad, come drive the roads in south florida where they are under a constant state of construction..if the pebbles, rocks and sand doesnt kill the paint, then all the stinkin' tar will.
the clear proctcive film is a good idea though. anyone know how long the film will last?
Kevin from all the web sites I read, and there are many, they say aprox 7 years. And most all the film has UV protection in it. For us Fla folks I dont see any options, I've had too many front bumpers ruined by love bugs. And I dont know if any of you all are looking at bra's for your front end , but if you are , let me warn you, please dont!! I had one on a black Mazda pichup, after a year or two, the dust and dirt that get behind the bra and the heat generated by a black bra, ruin your paint !! Clear film is the answer to all paint protection I think.
[/b][/quote]

Thanks, I had a bra on my 02 Altima, but I didnt keep it on all the time..I used to travel from WPB to Stuart 3 times a week and talk nicks and guts.YUCK!!!
Mitch who has a yellow vert has the clear bra on his and it looks great, the seam is barely visible unless he points it out to you its hard to find.
7 years is a long time, I will consider this..
But until then I have to install my mudflaps that have been sitting in my house..

Hi Shannon,
Here ya go. Ford mudflaps on a white Vert. I have will send pics of before and after. I am known to be very picky and probably worst. But, I got to tell you standing 10 foot away you can hardly see them. They blend in with the tires quite a bit. Ford did a nice job of making them fit the contours of the rear facia and they are a breeze to put on with 2 existing screws. Need a 90 deg. phillips screw driver. Took all of 10 minutes. At $38.00 plus shipping from www.fordaccessories.com they are cheaper than a paint job. I have had the car 4 weeks today and have less than 1000 miles on it and have already seen minor chips behind the rear wheels. Don't flame me to bad. Just want to keep her in good shape for awhile. 1st pic is no mudflaps

Last pic of mudslaps installed. I also tried to get the pic with the sun hitting them so it would be worst case. Not real ugly IMO.

Thanks, Scott. Those don't look bad at all, you can't even tell that they're there. Wanna trade that vert for a coupe?

BTW, beautiful car.

I think Ford did an excellent job too. You hardly would notice them at all if you were not told.

I tell ya what, if I were in an area that routinely damaged the back part of my car, I would put hot pink mudflaps on the thing if thats all I could get.

I think the flaps that you folks have are very understated and they are doing thier job.

I want "tear-offs" for my entire car... a plastic film that covers the entire car, in layers... then you just pull off the dirty layer, and Viola'! Clean car, and paint is in perfect condition!

I watch far too much motorcross.

Could you have gotten these painted to the color of your car?

I saw a picture a while back where someone had them painted, it didn't look as good. Right now the black kind of disapears against the tire.
