I jsut put my rims/tires on, Konig Beyond 18x9.5 275/40/18 all around. I was assured by the place i ordered from that they would fit with no issue. They came mounted on the rims and apparently balanced as well. i see the weights glued on in the rear of the rim. here are my 2 issues
1. The steering wheel is shaking a lot between 40 and 65mph. quite noticable and sometimes borderline violently. What could cause this and how can i remedy this?
2. Wheneve i make an extreme right or left hand turn, ie the steering wheel is turned all the way to either side till it cant be turned anymore, i am getting the wheel rubbing in the wheel well. Is there anything i can do about this?
Thanks for the help

Ron,
Check out this thread, http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index....opic=37789&hl=, for the shaking problem. It could simply be that the factory clips are still on the rotors. Not sure about the second problem, though.

I agree with the rotor clips. Remove the rims and take a look. If the clips are there, toss them.
As for the rubbing...have you lowered the car at all? If not, they should fit but that depends on the offset of the rims. If the car is lowered that changes everything. When you turn the wheel, exactly where are they rubbing (ie: hitting the fender, the fender skirt, suspension components, etc...)

Ron, sorry to hear about the problems your having with the wheels. I hope f1-cobra's suggestion about removing the clips on the front wheels helps and it solves the problem.
Also not sure about the fenderwell rubbing.

ok so the retaining clips solved the vibration with no issue. now on to the rubbing. the car is not lowered and has all stock suspension. it seems to be rubbing on the inside of the wheel well towards the engine compartment. only when the wheel is turned all the way to its extreme. i can see where it is rubbing inside the wheel well. anyone have any ideas?

Here is a comparison between the stock size and the ones you put on. Basically the backspacing is .8 inches more towards the inside of the wheelwell which most likely explains why you have the rubbing. 7" backspacing versus the stock 6.2". I guess a way of looking at it is now when you crank your wheels all the way, the inner most part of the tire is now .8" further than before.
I do know that other people have managed to put 18x10's on the front with a 7.25" backspacing. How theirs don't rub is beyond me cause when I tried that mine rubbed bigtime.

Ron, I have the number to this great rim place in south jersey that I went to, when I was having problems with my rims. Do you want it? You should probably check them out tomorrow since you will be in Jersey.

you could always but a 1/4" or 1/2" spacer in there but as Torrence said, I'd take it to a tire place and have them take a look.
Get someone to help you. Turn the wheel while somone is looking to see when it hits. As soon as it touches figure out how much more you can actually turn the wheel. If it is just slightly rubbing a 1/4" spacer might be all you need.
I still find this odd that it is rubbing since others have installed the same rims on their cars, however, not sure if they are running 275's either.

Since it's already been revived, anyone have a pic or description of the factory clips? I still can't keep my car from pulling left so I thought I'd check for those as a last resort.
