I found my wheels...

I really love these and want them bad... Don't suppose anyone knows if they fit, do they? Awesome wants them bad... but what I've been able to glean, the offset isn't being made to fit...

ION 625, Black/machined.

/There would be black mustang center caps, tho, I'd figure that bit out.

If you contact the manufacturer, they may be able to custom drill a set that already has the offset you need in a 5 lug. I wouldn't get a black centercap though...you'll ruin the nice two-tone effect of the wheel.

They only come in 5 lug, it looks like... it's the offset of the wheel that's not being made. If they could custom make that... But they'd be triple the price, I bet.

I agree with the center cap issue, but I don't like the 'ION" center... I'll have to think on it. I do think that if they'd make it the same machined material instead of the chrome center, then I might be easier swayed to keep them.

I definitely would buy them, Sean... but... there's no point if they'll not fit.

would the wheel sit too far in or stick too far out of the wheel wells with the offsets offered? you could use some spacers if they are too far in...

also, arin very much approves of this wheel

I dunno. I'm no wheel expert, and I don't like spacers... seems like you're stressing things that ought not be stressed...

But if the offset is 0 with a 17x8 (that's stock, right? I want stockish.) then a 45mm spacer is required... That's 4.5cm, and that's a whopping 1.78" spacer. That seems rather huge to me.

These things are supposed to be for trucks, which is why you don't see them offered... normally... who knows though.

They'd look great though, right?

It's free to ask the company about custom drilling a set. It's not necessarily going to be double the cost.

I'm curious, as well as ignorant. So please excuse the n00bness.

When you say "custom drilling", what does that have to do with the offset? I could see 'milling' if it were a solid blank being milled out or such...

Am I being obtuse? I hate it when I am...

It has nothing to do with the offset or backspacing.

The company may make a wheel with the offset/backspacing you need, but for another bolt pattern. They can take 4 blank wheels that were originally intended for say, a 5 lug Camaro, and drill them to the Mustang-specific 5-lug pattern. I had a friend in the same boat, and they custom drilled a set for an additional $400 ($100 per wheel).

Well, it's all pretty much moot.

@BlueSkyVert: They only make them in 5 lugs, and in three bolt patterns. They make them with the offsets, then drill them. So that's not the problem at all, they'll be drilled with the right bolt pattern.

No, the problem is I'd have to move up to an 18" wheel to get some that have the +45mm offset. The *only* 17" wheel they make with that pattern is a -5mm offset. Which is a 2" spacer, and that's just plain dumb. I won't have a rollerskate.

Found it out directly today. Darnit. Sigh... It's out there somewhere... I'll find it... these woulda been nice...
