I don't mind.

I ended up only paying for about 8hrs of labor (@ $40.00/hr) on just my hood, when in fact it took almost 3 days to get the hood ready for paint. I'll let you do the math.

But that was for my hood. It doesn't mean that another Trufiber hood could have taken less time to prep.

wow! But I have read about those hoods going in both directions with some requiring simple prep and others (like yours) taking extensive time. It could also come to the level of perfection and desired results.

I can tell you right now that mine only looks the way it does because of the integrity of the body shop I used. They could have delivered a hood based on what I paid for (8hrs), but instead, went above and beyond to make sure it was to their satisfaction...which is why they didn't charge me for the additional time.

They have definitely earned all my future business.

Well, got to love businesses like that as there are way too many on the other end of the spectrum. I have a great body/paint guy and I know he would do the same thing. Now I just need to figure what to do next with mine this winter... GT500 conversion or wheels/tires along with some suspension. Part of me says to just do both and worry about the budget later!

either one will set off the car....but if your budget allows you to do both at once, that'd be awesome!

I bought mine used, had it redone, and it's been on the car for over a year without any issues.

Mine's been on just over a year now. No problems with it what so ever.

Only 'complaint' has been hooking up the hood pins. My hood seems slightly smaller in legnth, so we've had to get a bit more creative to get the bottoms of the pins to connect to the wire. We still have plans on modifying and cleaning it up at some point, just havent gotten that far. Since the solution atm works fine I'm not in a huge hurry.

I got the shaft on a GTR hood about 2 years ago from them. I wouldn't buy another hood from them if my life depended on it. As soon as my hood go some sun the "bubbles" in the fiberglass started showing up. And then, they wouldn't take it back because it was painted. That was almost 1000 dollars after paint and shipping down the drain! You bet your sweet @$$ I'll bash them. If I do a hood again I may do Cervini's version of the GT-R hood.

Thought I'd update this thread. I just saw my former car and the hood looked great. It has a small "wave" in it, but every fiberglass hood does to some extent. It was very minor and barely noticable. Guess I got some bad information about it from the person that saw it a while back, which made me start this thread. Just thought I'd get back on here and clear that up.
