Houston we have a problem

well i installed my CDC chin spoiler about a month ago, and i was detailing it today when i noticed it had more give then i thought. i checked and noticed that the double sided tape did not stick right, it just came off of the body, no paint chips or anything, it just did not stick. the chinspoiler is stable though and is gripping the bumper really well. is this somthing i need to worry about or should i just leave it alone since it does not seem like it will fly off without it

Get more 3m tape from autozone and reattach.

My lol bro had the exactsame issue and he thought he was ok... only his chin spoiler was flapping at speeds over 70 mph. He had no idea since he was driving.

Make sure you remove any wax before you re-tape it on. 3M tapes recommend something like naptha to clean the area first. You can re-wax after you reapply it. 3M will not stick to a waxed surface, at least not permanently.

+1, backafter20.....

Make sure both the spoiler and the bumper are super clean before you put the new tape on. Use warm water, dish soap, and a splash of rubbing alcohol to make sure all the dirt is off. I've had my spoiler on for right at one year now, and it is solid.

Get the 3M that is gray ... according to my paint man it is stronger. Like the guys say above the surface must be perfectly clean. When I did my CS side scoops I had a problem with one corner lifting. Some of the double sided tape got contaminated during all the painting. The partes were also not a perfet contour fit either. My paint man had some kind of surface activator that he applied in these areas ... after that it stuck really well. Not sure where you get this stuff, it comes in a little packet like a wet wipe. You do neet to mask off the exposed paint surfaces before you apply as it does soften the paint.

well i am glad i bought the spoiler prepainted in the flat black plastic style so it is ok, i used the black 3M tape that came with the spoiler and it did not work, i have a big roll of the grey 3M so i am just going to take it off sometime this week and put on the grey 3M. I also think that i did not put enough pressure long enough for it to stick and i only used alcohol on the surface i did not clean it off with dish soap and pour some alcohol.
