Headlight tint

This may sound like a stupid and obvious question, but does the addition of headlight tint deacrease the light emitted from the headlights.
Please dont flame me.

I would put the plastic covers and not the tint..I don't like how it looked on my car after a while and after being on for months through rain and all,the plastic almost looks like it's dry rotted

It WILL decrease your light output. HID headlights don't put out THAT much more light to make up the difference.

Don't gamble with your safety. Use the plastic covers during the day and take them off at night.

Also, it is illegal anywhere in the States to cover up your headlights with film, tint, covers, etc. You'd be a target for being pulled over as well.

I wouldn't forget it... during the day it doesn't matter if you cover them up with tinted plastic covers - they detach and reset easily.

Just take them off at night and you are gold!

I think the overall effect would be that "sinister" look you are after!

i have the covers. i normally can't see for s--t at night, but the center lights are really bright and light the road up just fine. i don't have any trouble seeing at all.

now your local smokie might have a much different opinion !
