I love the look of the GTR headlights. Will a street legal kit be made for this?

Also, the clear plexiglas headlight covers - is a smoked version of them legal? Available?

I heard that Ford Racing will be coming out with a GTR kit, so likely will have the GTR headlights, don't see why they wouldn't be street legal.

Smoked headlight covers? Haven't heard anything about them, but I wouldn't think they would be illegal. In fact, starting in 2001 the headlights on mustangs were slightly smoked from the factory. And there are plenty of companies that sell smoked covers for headlights, they do really dim your headlights though, my brother had some on his mustang.

There are companies that sell items for "off road or show use only" that people put on street vehicles. I know the dark smoked covers (by GTS I think was the name) that were so popular in the 90's were completely illegal for street use (at least in NY). Just like too dark tint is sold but is illegal for street use.

Regarding the projector headlighgt in the GTR kit, I'm simply not certain if they could be made legal in that configuration (without reflective material around them). I certainly hope so and would get it done if available.

black out lenses are illegal, have them on my 98 but hardly ever get any hassle. Put them on the day after I bought the car in 1998 and between then and now I have been stopped three times for them (and not having a front plate) and only one of those times did i get the fix it ticket the other two they just told me to take them off....dumb laws like that are so they have a reason to pull you over and it usually is only used to hassle the ricers (they diserve it...just look at their cars...sheesh), I have a friend that has a ricer and everything is legal and gets pulled over all the time, my 98 tons of illegal showing cops seem not to care.

The '01-'04 lamps actually weren't smoked. They just looked that way. They're the same lenses as the '99-'00. (Black frame/clear lens) The interior bezels are black vs. aluminized which gives them the "smoked" look. The light output is the same for both versions.

Thanks for the info, but I think we're splitting hairs here. Think the look is the whole thing that desired.

But thanks for correcting my misinformation.
