Are you waxing over your vinyl stipes?

Had an OEM hood stripe on my 85 GT and I always avoided waxing it because it would turn 'darker' where the wax contacted the vinyl. Looking back, maybe I should have kept it waxed to avoid fading...

 

Hey Tacobill, not trying to be a pain here but you should do a search on the forum. Look under Exterior mods as we have posted tons of thread on stripes.

Well to answer your question. Wax them!

 

Yes 3M recommends waxing. I personnally am going to use Mother's California Gold - Phase 3 for clear coat paints.
