GT500 KR Hood available anywhere yet?

Is anyone making a GT500KR replica hood for the GT500 yet? Anyone really working on one?

You should be able to get through Shelby soon if not now. It's $1800.00 though.

Your info is incorrect. The KR hood will not be available at all through Shelby. James, I'm on the same mission as you man. I haven't heard of anyone making one yet. I'm constantly on the look-out for any Shelby hoods new to the market. I know that Amy Bolan said the SS hood should be available this month, but I'm also aware that you're more interested in the KR.

No it's incorrect. And the SS and KR hood are the same.

Not even close sir. The SS and KR hoods are far different. Aside from that the KR hood is made of carbon fiber and the SS hood is made of fiberglass. The KR hood will be made for the KR and not available to the public just like the Shelby GT hood. And if you want to debate this I have more than enough proof and all the info is from President of Shelby Amy Bolan. Do some research.

I agree they are far from different. just messin

Actually style wise they are close, but hey when your right your right. I have this picture; http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ty/Car/728.jpg and they look idential, but in your pictures they are deffinitely a difference. Anyway my first post was a mistake because I thought the OP was talking about the SS.

So every other company making KR hoods is breaking copyright laws? The only difference is these would fit the GT500.

Those hoods are not the exact copy of the KR. They will have issues if they make exact copy of the KR or SS for the GT500.

I don't know. There are other companies that make hoods that are off factory cars. And if it was a copyright deal, change the hood ever so slightly to make it ok. Just someone please make these hoods.

Perhaps once the KR is out, someone will copy the hood. Don't really know why none of the aftermarket companies have even come close. You are right, I don't like the SS hood. After seeing the two side by side at the Mid America, the SS hood is a cheap copy of the original and lost a bunch in the translation. I'll wait till someone gets it right. I don't need or want carbon fiber, fiberglass is fine if they can get the look right. I have seen several that have elements from the KR right, just not all of them on one hood. Tru-Fiber and Cervini both have close but no cigar hoods.

it needs the matching roof scoop With side scoops and 1/4 window scoops, people on the sidewalk will have shortness of breath when one goes by as it pulls all the oxygen from the atmosphere around it.

Cervini shows a KR hood in their ad in the October issue of Muscle Mustang & Fast Fords magazine; it's FG of course and costs $559 for the hood and $249 for the ram-air kit. Looking at the small picture of it in their ad it looks more like the Super Snake hood than the KR, but not a direct match to either.

I just heard this on Friday so I haven't been able to confirm it yet, but supposedly Whipple worked some body pannel mfg. on a Super Snake hood in FG and CF, they had it made for the GT500 when their W200ax SC is installed on a GT500 because the stock hood won't work with this SC.

I'm going to call Whipple on Monday to see if I can get the manufactures name from them, I'll let you guys know what I find out.

Cheers,
Jay

They only show a KR style hood for a GT on the web site. Does the ad show one on a GT500 front end? I saw the GT version at a show in Ft Worth a few weeks ago and it is the closest match I have seen so far, if only the front edge/grille area was shaped correctly for a GT500.
