GT/CS Side scoops from DC Custom

Anyone have experience or feedback about the pre-painted DC Custom side scoops?? I stumbled across their website yesterday and now today found them on ebay with GT/CS pre-painted side scoops for $180 plus $20 shipping.

So I would question 2 things:
Quality of the part and durability/match of the paint
How does the part look/compare to the OEM scoops??

Looking to add a set of these to mine over the winter and it would be great to not have a painter involved. And with a new pre-painted GT500 spoiler from The Spoiler Store (which is on my list as well), my car will finally be starting to evolve from the stock ride like so may others around here!

Any help or feedback great appreciated!

I am pretty sure those aren't stock scoops. They have a "flange" on them that I don't think the Ford ones do.

(not the best image, I know)

Anyway, I would wait for the real-deal (or a 3D Carbon one, which is VERY close)

That flange on the side scoops looks tacky. The O.E.M. Ford side scoops look a lot cleaner.

I thought something looked strange on those. It is worth the extra $$$ to get either OEM or 3D Carbon.

Doogie. go to WWW.ATLANTAAUTO.COM They have the 3D Carbon ones on SALE for $119.95 unpainted. These are just like the Mustang GT/CS ones that come from Ford.

thanks! Looks like I have a little time as they are on sale through 1/1/09, and for another $150 they come painted - which is even better! Since my painiting skills are less than stellar, I may also check with my paint guy to see what it would run to have it done locally as well.

The 3D Carbon and GT/CS are similar but not the same. The GT/CS is noticeably wider at the top than the bottom.

I've attached a couple of list members photos to show the difference.

Strange I saw two but I'm using Firefox. There was a third URL that wasn't viewable so I've removed it. First photo should be a Blue GT/CS and the second photo should be a blue set of 3dCarbon scoops shown next to box. Let me know which you cannot see and I'll repost that one.

Thanks. I can see the difference. Although minimal, nice to know as I do my research.

I'll be getting my DG CS ones tomorrow and have them on the car Friday. I'll take some pics of them on Saturday and update the thread.

I've had a couple of estimates at $100 to have these painted. These are reputable shops. Add that to the $186 that Ford Accessories list the GT/CS scoops at puts me right between the DC sale and list price. I'm partial to the GT/CS models and I hope to be receiving a set soon.

Correction: I meant to say 3dCarbon pre-painted and not DC.

thanks Danny... looking forward to the photos.

I may check with a painter I know to see if that is ballpark for him as well. I am leaing towards the GT/CS OEM ones and if the paint is around a $100, pretty much a wash for the pre-painted DC Group version

GT/CS Side Scoops

I like the OEM GT/CS side scoops or the 3D Carbin there great. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that prepaints the OEM GT/CS Side Scoops??
