I've been wanting the Torque Thrust wheels from American Racing because of the retro-styling....but I didn't want the largest size they listed, which was a 17x8. I had my tire/wheel guy call American racing direct today, and they can custom build wheels for me especially for the Mustang GT. 18x8 in front and 18x10 in the rear. The fronts will be 5 1/4 backspacing.....and the rears will be 6 3/4 backspacing. It will take 8 weeks for the special order, but I am going to wear out my tires a little more before I go this route. I'm also trying to decide whether I want the polished alloys, or the chrome alloys? Here's the prices: (polished) 18x8=$228...18x10=$243.........(chrome) 18x8=$259...18x10=$274

WHOA - by polished you mean like a satin silver finish?... brighter than the anthracite of course but not as BRIGHT as the chrome?.......

And the price for that set up would be $228 each for the fronts and $243 each for the rear?!

:bang:
Man I had just become frustrated finding wheels I liked, had settled on what I was going to get in a month or so.... and now this - always the way right?.....

That's not too bad of a price considering that they're custom. I got some American Racing Casinos in Polished, and they were $150 each, but in a 17 inch size.

I'd say go for it! But see if they will give you a trade in for your stock wheels. Discount Tire gave me $400 for the 16 inch stock tires/wheels that came with mine......

No trade ins taken at Les Schwab in Longview, but that's okay. The price I listed is per wheel. The polished alloy is highly polished, but just a notch or two below the chrome.
