I'm not sure how well that would show up. I would think you need a darker base coat before putting a pearl like paint on top of it.

I plan on putting ghost blue stripes on my black car when I get it. I think it is a nice subtle look, and something different ...

<copyright quickly> When I was planning on getting a Sonic GT, Adrenalin did everything I wanted to his, and I had decided to wait for the Shelby. Now I have to copyright everything I think of before he makes me over his car more.

A few years ago I had a pearl white TownCar (long story, no pimp mobile comments please), I'm trying to picture that in my head - "shut yo' mouth"

Put a request over on the photoshop board, we'll see if any of those experts can come up with some bling......

Good luck with that Luke. If you do decide to go with that I would love to see pictures.

I have pearl white ghost stripes on my Sonic Blue, hence dubbed "GhostGT." Adrenalin has the EXACT same set-up I wanted when I was in the market for a GT, wayyy before I hit the forums.

I drew sketches of a blue gt with the SS kit and white stripes in my art class in 11/2004, and i just found them again in my cabinet...good days.

Well...When I saw this baby, I couldn't let it go for anything else, not even white stripes...

Here's a few pics of Ghost whitey's on my GhostGT.

GhostGT, so is the blue of the car showing through the stripes(stripes transparent)? Or, are the stripes a lighter shade of blue??

I really don't think I'm brave enough to do this without seeing it first, maybe I could get a painter to do it on a junk hood or something????

This is correct....basically ALL pearls are transparent when applied over paint.

That's true for the most part, but not 100%.

I have "Black Pearl" on my 66 fastback, and it's layed on so thick, there's virtually no black visible behind it.

I say go for it. I didn't know exactly how my flames would turn out, and now I like them more than what I had in mind when I handed it over to the painter.

My gawd thats a sweet looking car!

I wonder how ghost flames like that would look on an 05. I know everyone thinks flames are played out but I still love 'em!

Says who?

I know it's not ghost flames, and it's not an 05, but anybody that says flames are played out has not seen a good flame job.

Yes, you are correct. The blue is showing through the stripes. My stripes are painted on as pearl white, then sanded until there is a layer as thin as heck, and then clear coat is applied and polished.
