Ford GT wheels/replicas -- pic requested

Since I'll be buying new tires soon, I figure I'll get some shiny new 18 inch goodies to go with them to boot.

I've seen the CTR Ford GT replica wheels around, and can't decide between them and some Black DD Bullits.

I've seen plenty of pictures of Bullits...

So..

Anyone have any pictures of the Ford GT wheels in Black or Chrome mounted up and installed?

In the mean time here's mine. 18x10 and 18x9. The quality isn't great, but you get the idea.

You like the quality of those CTR's, how is the chrome finish? Excellent pictures, thanks for taking them for me. Are you lowered at all BTW?

I've only had them since Aug. but the finish looks good with no obvious pitting in the chrome. All the spokes are finished and where the spokes meet the rim there is no gaps/pitts or roughness in the finish.

They look and fit good. They are hub centric. They balanced out with less weight than the wheels they replaced.

Use can use the factory GT center cap or any current pony cap. They also come with rubber/chrome valve stems.

Tell me about the GT500 brakes!! Did you have to use a 1/2" spacer?

redbullet, those pictures are sweet! also wondering about GT500 brake compatibility and how much different the overall diameter of wheels and tires are from stock, as in odo/speedometer issues. if i ever get around to buying a new Mustang (long story), that combo is the way i'd go.

The brakes work great. Being factory they are a direct bolt on, no brackets like aftermarket kits. The pistons are staggered in size. I did use steel braided hose and attached the ABS harness to them.

Braking, of course, has been increased under normal and panic stops. As expected, hard braking does not exhibit any fading like the stock brakes have. The rotor is heavy, quite heavy, and the cooling vanes are staggered in length and placement, they do not extend from top to bottom like a stock rotor. Under normal braking less pedal pressure is required. The ABS has functioned properly without any abnormal conditions seen or felt and no ABS light.

The wheels clear the calipers just fine w/no spacers. The wheels are 18 X 9 and shipping weight was 27 lbs per box. The tire size is real close to the factory height.

The OEM Ford GT upgrade wheels are nearly 1000 bucks a piece. Weight is around 26lbs per wheel if I remember correctly.

Thanks RedBullet.

Where did you source the stainless lines? Will the kits for the GT work with the Brembos?

I made my own hoses, but the stock factory front rubber hose is the same length between the GT/GT500.

The kit I got came with new hoses so I was able to match them up. They actually look like the same hose.

Ah ok. I want to do stainless lines too and will need to look into what fits.
