FYI, the Steeda kit, although more expensive than others, will fit. The kits have seperate hoses from the ends. I had to use the front hose on the rear because the rear hoses were to short for the relocated calipers when using 14" rotors.

The hard parts that bolt to the calipers and steel line can be used seperately and make your own hose if need be.

Just a heads up, I weighed a 18x9 wheel and it weights closer to 19lbs. They are very very light!!!!!!

They look and fit good. They are hub centric. They balanced out with less weight than the wheels they replaced.

Use can use the factory GT center cap or any current pony cap. They also come with rubber/chrome valve stems.

Did you use the rear brakes from the GT500 also or are they the same as the normal GT's?

With exception to the pads, GT500 rear brakes are identical to those of the normal GT, i've compared them both part number by part number, same rotors, calipers, lines, and mounting hardware, only difference is in the pads

Do you think you could take some pictures of the lip, especially some close-ups of the wheels from the side and from above. I am trying to see if the 18x9 CT-R wheels look identical to the BBS Ford GT wheels, because I have been told the CT-R's have a lip that the BBS wheels do not..

THANKS AHEAD OF TIME!!

Lokius,
The 18 x 10 CTR wheels do have a lip. The 18 x 9s do not. They are exact copies of the the BBS Ford GT wheel. They took a $1,000 GT wheel and molded it and reproduced it. Albeit, probably not the same fit and finish. I love mine, the deep dish on the rear look awesome. I get a ton of complements on them. Search my posts and you can get an idea of the lip. I'll post some more soon.

So these GT wheels clear the Brembo's fine. Thats good to know. The brembo's are the brake upgrade i'm looking to do because of how they are a lot cheaper than a set of 2300 dollar Baers, even though the baers are probably better, 750 vs. over 2k is a big difference for me.

I used the pads from the GT500, stock calipers and 14" 2 pcs rotor and anchor from Baer Brakes

I would say the 18 X 9 has a 1" lip but here is a link to the website w/foto's you can enlarge. The offset isn't going to be what you are used to seeing w/the 05 but you have to take into consideration the design of the center has alot to do with the offset/backspace but they do fit and clear the GT500/Brembo caliper. No rubbing on either the lower control arm or inner fender panel.

Click on the enlarge+ and scroll through the pics.

Several question on your conversion.

1. Did you upgrade the master cylinder to handle the larger calipers?

2. On the rear brakes, the rotors appear to be the same size as the front rotors. Did you put new larger size rotors on the rear and is that why the calipers appear to have rotated 30 degrees clockwise on the driver side rear?

3. Since these were factory parts do the calipers use the same mounting points as the stock GT or are there other parts needed for this conversion?

TIA

Well fellow Devil Dog, I did not swap out the master cylinder since it is the same, the I can research, as the GT500. The pedal feels fine and it is easy to modulate the brakes.

The front calipers bolt to the factory GT spindle w/o any modifications. The calipers bolt directly w/o anchors unlike the stock GT caliper and reuse the factory anchor mounting bolts (2) with some new loctite on them.

The rears are Baer Eraspeed 2 which are 2 pcs. 14" rotors and anchors that move the stock caliper out but otherwise bolt in the same location as the factory anchors and reuse the factory hardware.

I used the Steeda brake hose kit. The rears will not fit with the 14" rotors. They require a hose that is 1" longer. But, the Steeda kit comes in three pieces.... the hose, the frame mount with fitting and the caliper banjo fitting, so all you need do is replace the hose.

The front hose assembly comes the same way and I have now verified that the Steeda front hoses will fit.

Using the GT500 pads front and rear, and you will be cleaning your wheels every week. They are dusty pads.

Thanks Redbullet - Have you noticed that red appears to be the color of choice among the Marines on this forum.

I've just ordered a '07 Torch Red GT vert.
