Is 400.00 a fair price? Where are you located?

Saleen offers parts taken off Mustang GTs for re-sale - cheap.
Saleen.com then "parts and gear" then "V6 to GT conversion kets" then "Mustang take-off parts."

Their price for a hood is $399.99 - same as your quote.

I recommend CFP also... their stock hood in gel-coated fiberglass is $350. It's not listed on their site, but if you call them you can order it.

Here are a couple of pictures. I don't believe it's functional but it sure has the look that I'm wanting.

That Hood is from Champion fiberglass, and is not functional. I bought that same hood for my 06 GT (Still waiting on the car!) Doug sent me some of these same pictures. I think it is a very well made part, and can hardly wait to install and paint

Champion makes 4 different hoods for the 05-06
Stock, Shelby, Eleanor, 2" cowl I have that hood in the pic above on my car. It is not functional! I think you could make it functional with some work. It took a little prep but the quaility is very good. Nice price to, $345.00 I also recomend you pin it down. The factory hood I had shook at about 90 mph. I didn't want to take any chances with a fiberglass hood. Good luck with your choice.

Was there any damage during shipping? How was it packaged? Also, did you have any fitment issues? I'm considering buying the cowl hood for my 05 GT and doing all the work myself. The prices are awesome.
