Final exterior mods to begin...
Getting a full repaint to get rid of the orange peel... so that includes the SHR louvers. I love black cars that look like glass, so I'm paying extra to have a full repaint done. They say it'll be ready Friday... I think that's ambitious... I say early next week.

the saddest part is that there are so many looks that I would love to go with for this car.... I simply have a very hard time deciding which direction to go. Your car is definately one of the directions that I would have enjoyed to experiment with a bit.
Ain't it clear by now?!?!!!
They cleared it this afternoon. Overall it looks good. I can see that the edge of the doors is heavy and has a noticeable lip to it, and there are some fisheyes in areas around the car. They assure me they will buff out, but I was told this on my old stick on louvers and they didn't buff all the way out. And the lip is pretty big in my opinion. So you paint gurus out there, what can be buffed out and what can't be? I should have take some close ups of those areas, but didn't think of it.

I had a motorcycle gas tank returned to me that had beads of clear dripping off of it and looked horrible, fisheyes, etc. (long story, I got in a fight w/ the bodyshop guy doing my work and he returned it unfinished). Well, after some wetsanding/buffing it came out looking 100% perfect. Hang in there, let them do their thing.
How did they prep your hood? did they prime and bake the hood? How many time they shoot the primer and how many time did they bake your hood? Any issue with the hood? any comment about the hood from your body shop? Thnx
So far the only things they've said about the hood is that it had a lot of pinholes. I know that it sat on the car for 2 weeks out in the sun prior to them beginning to block it. I don't know if it has been 'baked' or not. I'll ask more about it today.

Getting closer... but still not ready (not surprised)
Well today was the original due date... and as you can see in the photos, there's no way it will be ready before next week sometime. Things are finally progressing, but I guess perfection takes time.
Got to see a Ford GT parked behind it today... nice car!

the removed the doors so that they could get edge of the front fender and rear where it meets the door jam to blend correctly.
I trust them, as they work on a lot of high end cars, so I feel they know what they're doing.
