Got the hood pins from here. They are $99 plus shipping. They're made of a high strength plastic that can be sanded and painted the car color. The link isn't working from my work, but perhaps somewhere else sells them as well.

Not much to report today... The passenger seat and rear seat are at the upholsterer's getting fitted with the new two tone leather seats. The embroiderer had a sample stitch done for me to approve. Here's a cellphone snap of how it will look on the headrest.

So today's update....

Went by the body shop. They have the hood pins done and flush. They're gonna look great painted the same finish as the car. Otherwise, he said they'd be in primer Monday, so I'll go up Monday after work to see it all primed for paint.

Went by the upholsterer, and they had the front passenger and rear seats covered with the new seat covers. They look great. He said they'd tighten the longer he has them in the sun. They look good now, can't wait until they're tight. He's also going to do a cover for my console cover with red stitching to match my shift boot, parking brake boot, and GT500 steering wheel...

The little details are coming together!

Those are the best looking aftermarket wheels I have seen on a Mustang. I love the red stripe tires too!

I agree they can be overdone, and that's why I haven't gone overboard with all the tiny billet pieces you can get to stick on everything in the interior, and my engine bay is nice, but modest. I feel that once all these exterior parts come together and you see it, you'll agree that it's not 'overboard' but right 'on-board'!!!

Thats the most important thing when modding, IMO. Too much just looks and feels tacky.

My modding is based upon something Chip Foose said in an episode of Rides when they were designing the Stallion. I don't know the quote exactly, but paraphrased he said "When I modify a car, I want people to look at it and say it looks great, they don't know why, just that it looks good. It shouldn't be in your face, it should all work together."

Hopefully when I'm done I will have achieved the same thing.

again, I couldn't agree with you more. I like going for the stock look to the untrained eye. Subtle

Picked up the headrest from the embroiderer. I think it looks great! Can't wait to see it on the headrest now!

I'll be going by the shop on the way home today. Hopefully the car will be in primer and I can get some updated shots of it.

Well today they finally got down to sanding and fixing a few small dings... I have to say, it's not easy seeing your car at this stage... wow, I sure hope they know how to put it back together!

Are they repainting the SHR louvers, or just reclearing them? Did I miss something, or why are you getting a full repaint?

I would keep it like it is on the pictures. Now it is REALLY special.

Can share your pain, when you see your baby like this. But wait until it's finished... Man, you will love it!!!
