Drilling?
Drilling?
Well my Roush Spoiler that I used tape on is a little looser than I would like. Soooo I think I'm going to drill but I'm REALLY nervous about drilling into my baby! Any suggestions? I don't own a drill so will probably be borrowing one or renting one. I need help!
1.Be aware of what you're drilling into.... and whats behind it.
2.Anytime i've had to drill into my car, I mask the entire area to prevent ut oh's.
3. Measure, then measure again and when you're absolutely sure where you're going to drill measure once more.
4. A little primer/ touch-up around newly drilled holes will prevent the rusties. And i don't care how water tight a part is... it will get wet.
5. 3M makes some kick butt auto tapes for stubborn parts, the proper prep and this tape is almost as good as drilling.
6. A blanket under the area you are drilling into is a good idea to catch shavings.
all i can think of for now

I drilled for my Roush spoiler. Most important...check and double check your template before drilling. One mistake I made was mounting the trunk lid piece before drilling holes for the side pieces. I would suggest drilling all the holes before mounting. The template that comes with the Roush spoiler is pretty accurate.
Like Darral stated primer/ touch-up paing on the holes us a must.
One thing I did was to fill in the holes with silicone after placing the spoiler on but before putting the nuts on. This will prevent any water that may get underneath to leak into the trunk.
