I understand what you were trying to do, I just don't think it fits the S197. Our hood does not stick out like the first gens do, and there's more chrome on the first gens. I just don't think it fits the S197. Don't get me wrong. I don't think it looks bad, and if you like it, that's all that matters. I just think it looks better without the hood piece.

I would take off the hood piece personally, but it's your car, and sounds like you're going for a theme.

Looks good!

I put it on my car this weekend also, just the three sides of the grill. Easy and cheap mod. I took pics, but haven't gotten them off of the camera yet. I'll do that tomorrow, and get a closeup or two. I tried first with the grill on the car, but had a little problem turning the corner, so I took it off. It went on very easily off the car. I have plenty of trim left over too.

Had to loosen the bumper a little and that gave the grill a little play to squeeze the strip around the corner (after a couple tries), but got it to work. Managed to do this while waiting on my calipers to dry... 2 mods for under $20!

Looks great. Can't wait to do mine. I already have my fog light bezels on, and the grill insert just arrived today. Guess I gotta stop by Autozone. I'll probably do mine tomorrow.
