after seeing the parneli saleen i thought about using chrome trim. didnt realize that you and others have already done it. glad to see you got great results with it. i may have to try it.

oh yeah, and titanjc, i did that too on my 350z. hehe. i used the chrome door edge guards and put them on the horizontal bars of my grille. looked pretty good, i thought.

I thought the door trim looked better than 98% of the grilles made for the Z! Nice to see another former Z owner on the board!

exgto, that looks nice, I'm definitely going to hit Pep Boys tomorrow for a roll of the door trim. Can't lose, $10 to get a bit of the PJ look.

On a Pony Package WVB

A before and after pic. Did it last year based on another thread. Great mod, low cost, and easy to do.

Can you provide a closeup shot? It's hard to tell how far back it goes toward the grille. It looks like it's just on the edge of the opening.

Yes, a close up would be nice. I'm just not getting where this goes on the grill....it's early. This might go nice with my recently added headlight splitters? Maybe the PJ look up front wouldn't be too bad??

If I remember correctly, there's only one size. When I bought the door trim guard before, it came in a large roll, I think it was around 30 ft of it.

Here's some close-ups of how it goes on the grill... This was from my original V6 grill I have sitting in my closet.

You're quite welcome!

And it definitely looks better in person... Like the billet grill's... The pictures don't do it justice!

ah! ok, it is the exact same thing i used on my 350z before. for some reason i thought you guys were using the flat piece of chrome trim and just taping in to the inner border. glad some guys asked to see a closer pic.

Now I see, and I can also see why taking the grill off would make it alot easier.....

I just did it today. I thought it looked incomplete across the top so I went back to Autozone and bought the flat fender trim and glued it to the top of the grille.

When I closed the hood, it covered the top trim, so, I put some of the door edge trim along the hood as well.

I had a lot of the fender trim left over, so I glued it around the fog lights. I have to admit that I like the way the thin fender trim looks around the fog lights much better the the large trim pieces that a few verdors sell. It would be nice if someone made a nice thin molding piece like this for the fog lights. Although I like the way this looks, there is a small seam at the top.

Get rid of the chrome on the hood. Otherwise, looks great.

I used "Styleguard" from Cowles Products (www.cowlesproducts.com). Chrome, wheel and body molding. I stuck to the edge of the grille. Size: 3/8".

I agree that I don't like it on the hood but I think this is a nice mod for some cars. I don't think I would like it on mine but it's still a great inexpensive way to dress up the grille.

In keeping with the old school styling, having it on the top of the grille would be correct. As seen here in this photo of a 66.
